Alphenvale Retirement Village is a life-right retirement village in Constantia, Cape Town, built in 2000 and 2001. According to the home's website, it has 63 two and three bedroom cottages occupied by 95 residents. Cottages remain the property of the Alphenvale Trust and are occupied on a Life Right basis. Two qualified nursing sisters provide primary health care at the village clinic or at the cottage during office hours, and one is on call after hours and at weekends. Residents can contract private nursing, but the village does not provide frail care. Each cottage has an AidCall 24/7 emergency unit and panic button, and security includes 24 hour guards and controlled access. The Clubhouse has a lounge, dining room, library, games room, mini gym and a heated swimming pool.
Pricing
Life right purchase price, not a monthly fee. According to the home's website in April 2025: a three bedroom cottage sells for about R9.5 million and a two bedroom cottage for R8.5 million. The price depends on position, refurbishment and recent sales on the estate. Monthly levies are charged separately.
