Golden Harvest is a non-profit retirement village in Magaliesburg. According to the home's website, it was founded more than thirty years ago and has 139 face-brick houses on 96 hectares, sold under a shareblock scheme to buyers over the age of fifty-five and in good health. It has a frail care unit with single and double rooms and a high-care ward, run by specialised nursing sisters, which takes 35 residents including five in high-care; village residents have priority, but people from outside the resort are also admitted. Post-operative care is available. Seven assisted-living bedsitters near the frail care unit come with meals, cleaning, laundry and other services. The estate has a golf course, a bowling green, a croquet lawn and a swimming pool. It has one entrance that is manned around the clock, and each resident is given a panic button linked to a security control room.
