Margate Retirement Village is a life-right retirement village in Margate on the KwaZulu-Natal South Coast, run by Hibiscus Retirement Villages. According to the village's website, it consists of 444 cottages and apartments on 28 hectares and is home to more than 600 residents. It was first occupied in 1968. Accommodation includes cottages, garden apartments, flats and studio apartments, all sold on a Life Right basis, and no dogs or cats are permitted. There is a frail-care facility and a dementia-care unit in the village, as well as clinic rooms for short stays by residents and non-residents recovering after an operation or hospital stay. Residents can use a dining room, a village bus service, a swimming pool, bowling greens, a gym, a library and a chapel, and the village has a variety of indoor and outdoor clubs.
