Huis Wittekruin is an old age home and retirement village in Vredenburg, run as a programme of BADISA, a registered non-profit organisation. It was founded in 1973. It cares for frail elderly people in single and double rooms across five sections, and also has 17 single and 8 double flats and a retirement village of 24 two-bedroom and 5 three-bedroom houses. Its life-right units are bought through GHBM, a Section 21 company of the NG Kerk, which pays the full amount back when a resident moves out or dies. According to the home's website, the waiting list for life-right applications has been suspended until further notice. Residents in the rooms get three meals a day. In the flats lunch is provided and is optional, and in the life-right units lunch is part of the levy; residents in both make their own breakfast and supper. Respite care is offered for a few days or weeks. Applicants are mainly from the surrounding area, and admission is decided by a selection committee.

Tariffs for 2026-2027: in-house rooms R8,900 to R12,720; single flats R7,630 to R13,990; respite care R550 per day.
