Norfolk Place is a retirement complex of 44 apartments in Kenilworth, Cape Town, developed and owned by St Luke's Hospice NPC on part of its property in Harfield Road. The apartments are in two 3-storey buildings, and the first residents moved in in November 2000. Apartments range from 36 square metre bedsitters to 148 square metre apartments with two bedrooms and a study, and are sold on a life right basis. The complex is managed by the Norfolk Place Management Association, whose committee is elected by the residents. It offers an independent lifestyle and has a club house with a lounge, dining room, library and TV and music centre. Residents are required to pay for any 10 main meals per month, and all other meals are optional. Norfolk Place does not offer frail care. New residents must be at least 65 years old, fit and well, and able to manage their homes and finances and live independently. According to St Luke's Hospice, a waiting list opened in 2003 and applicants may need to wait at least 5 years to be offered accommodation of their choice.
