According to the home's website, Ron Smith Care Centre in Edenvale, Gauteng, offers care for 160 elders in single or double rooms, with or without private bathrooms, in six separate wings. It stands in the grounds of Elphin Lodge retirement village and shares a chapel, a hall and a library with it. It provides frail care, including for people living with dementia, and when space allows also respite care and recuperative care after hospitalisation or illness, on a long- or short-term basis. Rates include full board and lodging, laundry, recreational and/or occupational therapy services, 24-hour nursing care, a doctor on call and linen. One of the River Lodge wings is dedicated to people living with severe memory loss. The centre says it was the first organisation in Africa to reach Milestone 2 of the Eden Alternative Registry, in April 2020.

According to the home's website, prices from 1 April 2025 (subject to change; the website says all prices are subject to VAT of 9%): non-refundable entrance fee of R8 480 when a room is booked; refundable deposit of 50% of one month's board and lodging (the amount is not published); temporary admissions from the community R1 270 per day, excluding VAT; day care R80 per session, excluding VAT. No monthly fee is published.
