The Avenue Retirement Hotel Fish Hoek

The Avenue Retirement Hotel is an independent living home in Fish Hoek for people over 50, sold on a Life Right basis, with long leases also available for selected units. All units have bedrooms with en-suite bathrooms, and some suites have a main bedroom plus a lounge. Units are serviced daily and may be furnished or unfurnished, and the building is wheelchair and walker friendly. The monthly levy includes three meals a day served in the communal dining room, morning and afternoon tea, daily room cleaning, weekly laundry of clothing and bedding, water and electricity. According to the home's website, there is a clinic once a week, a first aid responder at reception 24 hours a day, an emergency response system, 24-hour security guarding and CCTV, and there is currently no waiting list. Bathing assistance, help getting dressed, medication reminders and wound care are available at a surcharge, and private care can be sourced if needed. No pets are permitted. The home is a short walk from the beach and from shops, chemists, the library and the rail link.
