Amble Ridge Retirement Village is a retirement village in Knysna with views over the Knysna Lagoon, 350 m from the Knysna Life Private Hospital. It offers over-50s 1, 2 and 3 bedroom houses. For more senior or less mobile residents it has Life Right houses and apartments, including Independent Living and Assisted Living apartments. The newest phase, the Hydrangea Suites, has 10 Assisted Living and 15 Independent Living apartments and was completed in late 2023. Assisted Living residents have 24-hour care from registered nurses and their teams of carers, who manage medication and provide daily non-specialised caregiving. Amble Ridge Care also has two Health Care Suites for short stays, such as after hospitalisation, respite care and palliative care, with 24-hour nursing. Entry to the estate is protected by CCTV and 24-hour security guards, and residents are issued with security and medical emergency panic buttons. A clubhouse at the centre of the village has a restaurant, bar, gym, heated indoor swimming pool, hairdressing salon, physiotherapy centre and chapel.
