Belvidere Park Retirement & Care Centre

Belvidere Park is a retirement community within Belvidere Estate on the edge of the Knysna Lagoon, at 80 Upper Duthie Drive, Knysna. According to the home's website, it consists of 80 freehold two- and three-bedroom cottages, each with its own garden, private veranda, one or two lockup garages and views of the lagoon or the gardens, and residents pay a monthly levy towards the general operating expenses of the park. The main complex houses the Assisted Living and Frail Care Centre, which is situated within the Community Centre. According to the home's website, the Care Centre offers 24 hour staffing with trained registered and enrolled nurses and care staff. Its suites are for residents who need frail care or for whom assisted living is a safer, more comfortable option. The suites have hospital beds, en-suite bathrooms with a walk-in shower and a nurse-call system, and trained staff oversee and administer medications. The frail care suites are sold on an Occupancy-Right basis. Where possible, support services are also provided to residents in their own homes. The park has a library, a swimming pool, a kitchen that prepares a daily lunch, served in the community dining room or as a take-away, a croquet lawn, and a shuttle to Knysna on Tuesday and Friday mornings.
